The primary goal of this highly competitive internship is to provide a learning experience that will allow interns to gain adequate knowledge of how a top sports public relations office operates and help prepare interns for immediate postgraduate employment opportunities within the sports industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the content management of, including pictures, player features, game stories and polls.

  • Aid in the writing and compilation of the club's annual media guide.

  • Aid in compiling statistics and making player bio updates for match notes packet.

  • Aid in composing social media content.

  • Writing press releases, media advisories and player biographies.

  • Assist with player interview requests.

  • Archive Armada FC club and player clippings.

  • Assist with community appearances.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The desired outcome of each internship experience is to gain experience of both the operations and business aspect of the sports industry. Our responsibility is to guide motivated, career driven students and strengthen their understanding of the sports atmosphere. The New York Cosmos seek to provide an atmosphere that encourages the development of specific skill sets that will enhance the students’ value to future employers. 

The Cosmos are seeking interns in the following departments for the fall semester (September through November 2017):

  • Marketing
  • Sponsorships
  • Sales
  • Ticket Operations
  • Graphic Design
  • Operations
  • Sporting


  • Pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
  • Must be able to show proof from your college or university that you will receive graduate or undergraduate credit for this internship.
  • Ideal candidates should have a passion for sports, specifically soccer
  • Must have the proper skill set to function in a demanding, result oriented environment
  • Candidate should be professional, motivated, enthusiastic
  • Ability to resolve concerns expeditiously and independently
  • Able to work game days
  • Must have excellent interpersonal written/verbal communication skills, be detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and adapt to change when required
  • Must have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all internal staff and management as well as any external contractors
  • Provide helpful and courteous customer service to all individuals and can problem solve as needed
  • Must be able to work in Garden City, NY as well as Brooklyn, NY
