Sales & Marketing: Ticket Sales Management
Box Office Manager - New York Cosmos (Garden City, NY)

Position Purpose:

The Box Office Manager job is a full-time position with benefits.  The primary responsibilities of this position are to oversee all aspects of multiple box offices, manage the ticketing inventory, and process and coordinate delivery of tickets and merchandise orders.  The secondary responsibility is provide guests with a positive initial experience at Hofstra University’s James M. Shuart Stadium by aiding guests with accurate event information and assisting them in purchasing and/or picking up tickets to home matches.

Essential Functions:

  • Build all events in the ticketing system, including seating manifests, price tables, holds/kills, discounts, pre?sales, etc.
  • Process and coordinate delivery of full-seasons, partial plans, group tickets and merchandise orders for the NY Cosmos
  • Assist with interviewing, reviewing and selecting a ticketing system partner
  • Manage all ticket accounts and inventory using the ticketing system
  • Oversee all aspects of multiple ticket offices, including processing orders, as well as all internal and external ticket-related reporting
  • Assist with all financial reconciliations as well as Account Executive Commissions
  • Assist Director of Sales with writing and executing policies and procedures as they relate to the box office, including but not limited to, day of game ticket sales
  • Manage relationship with the ticketing system partner to ensure all ticketing system needs are met
  • Work cohesively with employees of Hofstra University in maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Hire and manage box office staff (full and part time)
  • Create, update and assess reports on the ticketing system, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Print, verify and organize Will Call
  • Work closely with the Fan Services Department to provide the highest level of customer service throughout the season, including game days
  • Collaborate with Ticket Sales and Marketing on ideas, execution and delivery of ticket promotions and plans
  • Exercise confidentiality and integrity upon handling personal and financial customer information
  • Meet regularly with DOS regarding progress of team and challenges

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and demonstrate that s/he can perform the essential function of the job.

  • 3+ Years of Ticket Operations/Box Office experience, ideally as a manager
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Bi-lingual preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of ticket services companies with a demonstrated ability to manage said relationships
  • Prior experience with creating and maintaining ticketing systems, including building seating manifests, pricing models, seating sections, etc
  • Strength in time management, administrative ability, organization, and customer service skills
  • Ability to resolve concerns expeditiously and independently
  • Candidate must have strong leadership, interpersonal and supervisory skills
  • Demonstrate computer proficiency, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public in a professional manner
  • Must have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all internal staff and management
  • High energy; ability to remain focused on multiple projects and work independently
  • Ability to work long, flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Candidate should be professional, motivated, and enthusiastic and have a passion for sports
  • Ability to adopt in a fast pace and consistently changing environment

Player Operations: Equipment Manager
Equipment Manager - New York Cosmos (Garden City, NY)

Position Purpose:

Manage the equipment of the New York Cosmos first team working closely with the coaching staff and technical staff to ensure optimal results.  Responsible for the daily equipment needs of the players, coaching staff, and technical staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures the availability of all the necessary equipment needs for the players and coaching staff
  • Coordinates with the technical staff on purchasing team equipment and uniforms
  • Support the assistant technical director on budgetary planning as it relates to equipment
  • Manage and track inventory to ensure efficient operation of the department while minimizing lost/stolen equipment
  • Manage all related equipment and gear functionality whether at the training complex or stadium
  • Responsible for washing of practice/game gear immediately following training sessions/games
  • Required to travel with team to away games and develop the necessary program to ensure equipment functionality
  • Must have ability to establish healthy professional relationships with all athletes
  • Work with medical staff and trainers to establish the strictest sanitation policy in the training facility, stadium and during all travel
  • Assist on-field for training when needed
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Minimum 3+ years experience in equipment manager role of professional teams
  • Detailed soccer knowledge strongly preferred 
  • Positive “can-do” style. Open minded with flexibility in his/her approach with a persistent and resilient style
  • Ability to work on own or as a part of a team
  • Energetic and open with an honest straightforward style
  • Self-assured and has a calm style under pressure
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Fluency in English language required. 
  • Fluency in other foreign languages preferred
  • Fluency in use of MS Word and Excel
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively & tactfully with managers & other levels of personnel
  • Must possess confidence & diplomacy
  • Must have ability to organize & schedule work effectively
