Account Executive - The New York Cosmos (Garden City, NY)

Position Purpose:

The Account Executive, Ticket Sales job is a full-time position with benefits. The main goal is to generate revenue by selling season tickets, partial plans, and group tickets to companies and individuals via phone prospecting, personal appointments and home games.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for generating maximum revenue by selling full-seasons, partial plans, and group tickets
  • Create and develop new business by regularly pitching new prospects through external appointments, phone prospecting, networking events and game day tours
  • Plan and coordinate group events at matches and other related events

Administration/General Management: Office Manager
Business Manager - The New York Cosmos (Garden City, NY)

Position Purpose:

The Business Manager handles daily office management functions such as answering phones, greeting guests, daily human resources functions, assisting various staff projects and ensuring the smooth functioning of the office.  The Business Manager will also assist the sales and sponsorship department servicing client needs and fulfilling club obligations for such partnerships.

Position Purpose:

The director of marketing and communication is responsible for the branding, advertising, public relations, community outreach and strategic planning of the club.   As a new club in NASL the club will employ outside agencies to assist with the start-up and operation.  This position will manage those relationships and will have a greater focus communication than marketing.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop a strategic plan in conjunction with an outside agency that will clearly communicate the history and vision of the New York Cosmos
  • Manage club communication and public relations functions such as responding to media inquiries, pitching stories and coordinating press conferences
  • Direct match day media operations which includes the press box as well as accommodations for photographers, print, internet, radio and television representatives
  • Oversee contract partners such as photo services and media rights carriers
  • Build the website and social media platforms
  • Create standard operating procedures for the department and coordinate as needed with the sporting department
  • Manage media availability at matches and training sessions

Player Operations: Equipment Manager
Equipment Manager - New York Cosmos (Garden City, NY)

Position Purpose:

Manage the equipment of the New York Cosmos first team working closely with the coaching staff and technical staff to ensure optimal results.  Responsible for the daily equipment needs of the players, coaching staff, and technical staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures the availability of all the necessary equipment needs for the players and coaching staff
  • Coordinates with the technical staff on purchasing team equipment and uniforms

Fan Services Executive - The New York Cosmos (Garden City, NY)

Position Purpose:

Position will serve as the initial day-to-day contact for the New York Cosmos fan base, including general fans, single-game ticket buyers and season ticket holders. Position will be responsible for seat improvement, account balances and other inquiries from our Season Ticket holders. The Fan Service representative is responsible for resolving all issues in positive manner, exceeding customer expectations and providing interaction that is reflective of a model professional sports franchise.

Essential Functions:

  • Improve year-over-year customer satisfaction through responsiveness, professionalism and positive interaction
  • Accurately and successfully convey all key messages to the Club's season ticket base, single-game ticket purchasers and the general public
  • Ensure customer data and profile requirements are accurately represented in database
  • Assist with ticket distribution and customer account changes
  • Execute customer communication including but not limited to calls, emails and letters related to season ticket, ticket-related issues and general concerns
  • Assist all sales-related programs including but not limited to account renewals, special events, annual relocation and account payments

Player Operations: Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapy/Doctor
Head Athletic Trainer - The New York Cosmos (Garden City, NY)

Position Purpose:

The Head Athletic Trainer will manage all day-to-day (practice and games) sports medicine operations as well as the administrative duties required in the overall functioning of the training room. The Head Athletic Trainer is responsible for implementing injury prevention strategies, treatment, and rehabilitation for players’ medical related problems. The Head Athletic Trainer will work in consultation with the medical director from the Club’s partner hospital regarding all daily functions and will report directly to the head coach/sporting director.   

Essential Functions:

  • Create a daily injury status report on players to report to coaching staff and team physicians
  • Develop rehabilitation and prevention programs for players
  • Manage assistant athletic trainer and interns including trainers for Cosmos B and Cosmos Academy
  • Maintain a healthy, safe, and clean training room
  • Administer preventive player health care options, but not limited too: taping, upkeep of ice baths, stem units, ultrasound, wound cleanup, Kinesio tape application, etc.
  • Work in conjunction with the Club’s partner hospital and the designated Team Physician to manage all health related issues for players and coaches during practice, games, and while at the training facility.
  • Work with the Technical Director and Head Coach/Sporting Director in creating an appropriate training room budget that encompasses the adequate requirements for a functioning training room

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and demonstrate that s/he can perform the essential function of the job.

  • Bachelor degree in Sports Physical Therapy or equivalent expertise
  • Registered physical therapist or Master’s Degree in the health field is recommended
  • Must have an Athletic Trainer Certification, licensed by the State of New York, and professional CPR certification
  • 1-2 years of experience working in professional sports team training room
  • Complete fluency and proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Create a documentation program that includes player injuries, treatments, and players’ rehabilitation process
  • Must be willing to work on weekends and holidays, and be prepared for extensive travel for preseason, away games, post-season trips, etc.

Web Editor - The New York Cosmos (Garden City, NY)

Position Purpose:

The Web Editor for NYCosmos.com will oversee the production of online multimedia content and development for the official Club website and mobile platforms. The position will also be responsible for overseeing the team’s social media platform and execution of the team’s digital PR and marketing campaigns.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be willing to work on weekends and holidays on an as-needed basis for match days and breaking team-related news.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the year-round content offering for the site.

  • Help oversee the team’s social media efforts and manage its social media platforms in support of the team’s overall goals.
  • Explore and identify ways to integrate social media into marketing campaigns.

  • Must be a hands-on contributor who can efficiently develop digital marketing materials for digital partnerships and promotions.
